Eric Holder is a marketing communications creative producer and strategist who helps businesses understand and profit from content and analytics using social media and search marketing to increase user engagement and improve brand image.
Research interest and projects have included the Digital Media Attention and Cognition Lab (DMAC Lab), for UX/UI Interaction Design, and the Social Media Analytics, Listening and Engagement Suite (SEE Suite) at the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication where Holder earned his Master of Arts degree. Recent certifications include Google Analytics Academy (I,II,III) Google Ads and Google Digital with the Internet Advertising Bureau.
Holder’s noteworthy career began in public relations / marketing and included leadership positions with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP), the American Heart Association, the Athens Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Athens Banner Herald. Next, the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications hired Holder to serve as director of communications for electronic media’s most prestigious prize, the Peabody Award.
At Peabody, Holder produced two interactive websites and was awarded a $500K grant by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation which funded documentaries and paved the way for Holder’s 20-year career in video production. Shows for A&E and PBS, where he worked with media icons Walter Cronkite and Katie Couric, interviews with Nobel Prize winner Paul Berg and film festivals with Robert Osbourne and Academy Award winner Maximilian Schell are included in Holder’s varied background.
Presentations on emerging media and content include the Radio and Television News Directors Association, National Association of Television Programming Executives, National Association of Broadcasters, Public Relations Society, Southeast Journalism Conference, Georgia Journalism Academy, National Association of Medical Communicators and the Association of Health Care Journalist.
Next, Holder was hired by the Emmy Award winning interactive agency Beyond Z where he worked on projects including the NFL’s Washington Redskins first interactive website and COX Radio’s nationwide Rhapsody Music campaign. Holder’s projects have spanned the globe including work in Australia, Alaska, Germany, Italy, Turks and Caicos, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
